Project Inspiration

Roller derby teams frequently adopt names characterized by wordplay, satirical elements, mock-violence, or sexual puns. These names often incorporate pop culture references, providing ample creative freedom for playful design choices. When given the opportunity to form our own team, I thought about the team name I would want to play under. I settled on the name “Monster City Kitties” and chose black cat black and cat eye green as key brand colors to symbolize the agility and fierceness of our team, signifying that we would bring misfortune to our opponents as we swiftly passed them on the roller derby track.
